Index Certificates are financial instruments resulting participation rate movements in an underlying asset 1:1 (one to one). 1:1 is an expression that describes the instrument exactly follows the underlying asset movements. For this reason, called index certificates sometimes also for trackers.
Index Certificates have a limited life and example of the underlying assets are equities, indices, commodities or currencies.
